Dr. Susan Herman is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, and the Clinical Director of the University Hospital of Brooklyn Epilepsy Center.
Dr. Herman received her undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University. After receiving her medical degree in 1993 from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, she completed an internship in internal medicine and residency in neurology at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York. She completed fellowship training in epilepsy and electroencephalography at the Neurological Institute of New York. She is board-certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology and is currently working toward a Master’s degree in epidemiology at the Columbia University School of Public Health.
Dr. Herman is the author of several abstracts, articles, and chapters on epilepsy and electroencephalography, and conducts clinical research on the interaction of sleep and epilepsy. She is the Director of the Clinical Neurophysiology Training Program at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Epilepsy Society.
