Dr. Craig Kessler is currently Professor of Medicine and Pathology at the Georgetown University Medical Centre, Washington D.C. He is also Chief of the Division of Hematology-Oncology, Director of the Division of Coagulation in the Department of Laboratory Medicine, and Director of the Adult Component, Washington Area Hemophilia Comprehensive Care Centre at Georgetown.
After pursuing a fellowship in Haematology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Dr. Kessler has been involved in on-going scientific and clinical research, including federally-funded studies for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, including Blood, the British Journal of Haematology, Thrombosis and Haemostasis, New England Journal of Medicine, and the Lancet; has written numerous book chapters; edited several textbooks; and is currently the co-editor of Haemophilia. An active member of several professional organisations, he is the former president of the Hemophilia Research Society of North America and remains a member of the board. Dr. Kessler has been recognized for his professional accomplishments and contributions and has been named a Fellow of the American College of Internal Medicine and has received the Alpha Therapeutic Award for his research and clinical work in bleeding and clotting disorders.
