Dr. Paul Kamen is an Associate Professor of Clinical Dentistry at the Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery, and Associate Attending Dentist at New York Presbyterian Medical Center. He also maintains a clinical practice limited to periodontics in New York City.
Dr. Kamen received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and his dental degree from Columbia University in 1975. He received his residency training at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and pursued his specialty training at Harvard, where he received his Certification in Periodontology and Oral Medicine in 1979. Subsequently, he was appointed to the full-time faculty at Columbia University where he pursued his interest in research, teaching, and clinical practice. He has been honored by fellowship in the American College of Dentists and OKU, the dental academic honorary society and Sigma Xi, the scientific honorary society. He is certified as Board Eligible by the American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Kamen's research interests range from cell culture models of periodontal disease to age as a risk factor for periodontal disease. He has written and presented on these and related topics in this country and abroad.
