Dr. Daniel Lee is a research fellow in cardiothoracic
surgery at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University.
He is funded by an individual NRSA grant from the National Institutes of
Health.
Dr. Lee completed his medical education at the University
of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and finished two years of surgical
residency at Loyola University of Chicago Medical Center. He is active
in many areas of research including investigation of receptor for advanced
glycation end-products (RAGE), visualization of cardiovascular system through
blood, and the effects of antioxidants in cardiac surgical patients. Clinically,
Dr. Lee serves as a cardiac surgeon in the donor team of the Center for
Heart and Lung Transplantation at the Columbia campus of New York Presbyterian
Hospital.
