| COX-2 inhibitors, the popular pain medications normally used to treat arthritis, are now being studied for their ability to possibly prevent and treat certain forms of cancer. Researchers found that the COX-2 enzyme, responsible for the inflammation arthritis created in response to injury, also becomes active in some cancers. More research needs to done, but COX-2 inhibitors look like they may be a promising agent for the prevention and treatment of cancers. |
